Incorporating devotions in your app is a great way to encourage your congregation throughout the week. Here are three different ideas for incorporating devotions into your app.

  1. Blog tab (or RSS item in a Build Your Own tab):

In this case, you'll start a simple blog, perhaps with SnapPages or another blog service. Once you've set it up, you simply grab the RSS feed URL and create a Blog tab (or an RSS item in any list you want to put it in). Your new blog entries will appear in your app automatically.

  2. A devotional blog incorporated into an app via the Blog tab

The only way to automate the process of your devotions appearing in your app is to use option 1. With options 2-4, you will need to manually create new entries in the dashboard.

  3. Build Your Own Tab with Media items:

Create a Build Your Own Tab and a new list, and then add a new media item to the list for each new devotional entry. In this case, you're primarily using the media item for its text (summary) field, rather than the audio/video fields.

  4. Build Your Own Tab with Fill In Notes (in Link Items):

This option is similar to option 2, using a Build Your Own Tab, but instead of using media items for each daily devotional entry, you'll use Link items with URLs to Fill In Notes.
