Creating a new theme

To avoid causing changes to your already live site, we recommend first starting off with creating a new theme.

You can apply one theme at a time for your whole site, but with this new theme, we will be applying it to the re-designed pages.

The first thing you'll want to do is head to the Theme Menu and select a starting theme.
To avoid making changes to your live site, please don't use the theme. That will come at the end of the re-branding process.

Make sure to Name your theme through the Theme Editor -> Options Menu.

Duplicating Pages

Re-branding isn't an overnight process, it is going to take some time. So we recommend duplicating your already existing pages. This way even while you are re-branding you can still make updates to your existing live pages.

The duplicate pages should have names like "Home 2" or "Home - draft" so they are easily identified when you are editing. These pages can live within your Online section in the Page Menu.

You can also password-protect these pages, so in case anyone accidentally navigates to the pages, they won't be able to see the page without a password. You can do this by going to the Pages Options and enabling password protection.

Theme Selection

On the re-branded pages you are working on, go ahead and jump into the Page menu and select the new theme you are working on. This way, you can preview the new Theme and pages without it affecting your live site.

Preview Pages

On the upper-right-hand corner of your pages, you'll want to select the URL of the page you'll want to preview.

Keep in mind you Must Publish your theme and Pages for the changes to reflect while previewing the site through the URL.
