How to Resolve a Google Organization Verification Rejection

If your organization’s name was rejected during Google’s verification process, it’s likely because the information on your Google Payment Profile doesn’t match the information in your DUNS profile, or your DUNS profile needs updating. Follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Your DUNS Profile

Verify the accuracy of your DUNS profile information by searching for your organization here. If updates are needed, proceed to Step 2. If no updates are required, skip ahead to Step 5.

2. Update Your DUNS Profile

To update your DUNS profile, you’ll need at least two legal documents that match your organization’s Correct Legal Business Name and Current Physical Address.

Accepted Documents for Updating:

  • Business Name

    • Secretary of State Articles of Incorporation

    • Registration Amendment Document

    • Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) Confirmation Letter

    • Employer Identification Number (EIN) Confirmation Letter

    • DBA/Assumed Name Certificate Filing

    • Merger/Acquisition Agreement

    • Purchase Order Representing Asset/Liability Exchange

  • Address

    • Utility Bill

    • Lease Agreement

    • TIN Confirmation Letter

    • EIN Confirmation Letter

    • Third-party Invoice with Current Business Name and Address

3. Submit Your DUNS Update Request

Once you’ve gathered the necessary documentation:

  1. Fill out the DUNS Request Form designed for Developer Account customers.

  2. Provide your contact information.

    1. Avoid using the main DUNS website as this specific form ensures faster processing for Developer Account needs.

  3. Provide the following details:

    • Enter your email address.

    • Select "Developer Program".

    • Choose "Update or Correct DUNS".

After submission, Dun & Bradstreet will process your updates and confirm your DUNS profile.

4. Wait for Google to Sync

Allow 7 business days for Google to update its records after your DUNS profile has been confirmed. Once this time has passed, proceed to Step 5.

Do all of the following in an incognito window to reduce profile switching issues!

5. Create new Google Payments Profile

Follow these simple steps to set up your payments profile in Play Console:

  1. Access the Play Console:
Log in to the Play Console to start creating your payments profile.

  2. Navigate to Payments Settings:
Go to Setup, then select Payments profile.

  3. Start Creating Your Payments Profile:
Click Create payments profile. Ensure you have your organization’s details, like the DUNS number, ready.

  4. Select Create Payments Profile:
Under the Payments profile section, click the dropdown arrow and choose Create payments profile.

  5. Provide Organization Details:

    • Name and Address: Enter your organization’s legal name and address exactly as shown in your DUNS profile.

      • Note: Google requires a valid physical business address—PO boxes are not allowed.

    • Primary Contact Information: Provide your name, email address, and optionally, a phone number.

  6. Add Business Information:
Enter your organization’s website or choose to match your payments profile information.

  7. Submit Your Profile:
Once all the details are entered, click Submit to finalize your payments profile setup.

6. Resubmit Verification with Google

Once your Payments Profile has been approved, please proceed by following Google’s prompts to verify your organization.
