In the Navigation Menu tab on your Header Menu, you have a lot of options to specifically customize your Navigation Bar (shown below).

Through this menu, you can modify many of the basic characteristics of your Navbar beginning: Color, Active, Hover, Background, and Typography. More detailed descriptions of each of these can be found below!

  • Color* - This option allows you to set the Text Color of your Navigation Bar.

  • Active - The Active color option allows you to specifically highlight the page you are on so you can easily track where you are in the Navigation.

  • Hover - This feature makes it so whenever you hover over an item on the Navbar items it will change to the color of your choice.

  • Background* - To set a specific background color for your Navigation you can quickly set that here!

  • Typography - Here is where you can control the various Navigation bar text traits.

Additionally, you can access more advanced Navigation bar options in the More tab. To learn all about that check our article by clicking here!

*These options will be overridden if you have the topmost Section's background being included in the Header. When this is done, the Navigation Bar inherits the Color Scheme from the Section.

The "More..." tab on the Navigation Menu is full of advanced Navigation Bar settings that allow further customization:

  • Spacing - This option allows you to control the spacing between the items on your Navigation Bar.

  • Padding - The Padding feature allows you to control the space between your Navbar and its surroundings.

  • Border * - With Border, you can set up a number of different borders around your Navigation.

  • Hide Homepage - If you ever want to simply hide your homepage from the Navbar all you have to do is toggle it off here! Be aware that some themes have the homepage hidden by default. As a good rule of thumb, if the homepage is hidden from your menu, make sure your homepage is linked to your logo. This way, users can still return to the homepage when viewing another page.

  • Full Width * - Turn this feature on if you want your Navigation background to stretch across the full width of the page.

  • Dividers - This option uses dividers to evenly space the items on the Navigation Bar.

  • Call To Action - This is a great way to draw attention to a specific item; for example, the giving page! Toggling this on will create a box around the last item in your Navbar, giving it an extra pop to draw people in and informing them that it is clickable.

* These options will be overridden if the first Section's background is included in the header. When the page's top Section includes the Header, the Navigation Bar will inherit the Color Scheme and properties from the Section. In the screenshot below you can see the header is included with the background. You can learn more about this setting in his article here.
