To add tags to your Media Items

  1. Open up any one of your Media Items in the dashboard.

  2. You will see the Speaker field is in the same spot, but we have added Topics and Scripture along with it. These three fields translate into tags that will be added to Media Items.

  3. Go ahead and enter a couple of Topics to try it out, we have a few that are pre-filled for suggestions, but you can type in anything you would like and make it a topic. We encourage if you would like to add multiple topics to ensure each topic is separated into its own tag. Any topic that you create is saved in the dashboard and can then be added to other media items as you wish.

There is a limit of 100 topic tags in the Dashboard. Topic tags are generally designed for broad ranging topics, instead of hyper-specific topics. For example, we recommend using more general topics such as "Family" rather than "Husband", "Wife", "Parents", "Children", etc. This will help your users search by topic tags without being overwhelmed by tags that are only used once or twice.

Let's move on to the next tag: Speakers. These follow the same rules as Topics. Simply type in the name of the speaker for whom you want to create a tag. If you want to add multiple speakers do so one at a time. Do not include multiple speakers in one tag. When adding a speaker, only use first and last names and do not add in roles as names such as "Pastor." Any speakers that are added will be saved in the dashboard and you can add them to any other media item.

After you add a new speaker into the Speakers tag section, you can then add their photo, role, and description by going to Media>Tags>Speaker.

Currently, speaker tags have no connection or integration to People profiles in the system.

Lastly is Scriptures, start by clicking into the scripture field you will see a menu appear below filled with all the books of the Bible, select your desired book, then select the chapter, and then select your verse or verses! You can add a scripture tag using the menu or you can also type out the scripture if you wish.

Hit Save and you have now added tags to your media item!

Delete, remove, or rename tags

Tags can be modified once they are applied, you will see three dots next to any Speaker or Topic. Clicking on those dots will allow you to Remove, Rename, or Delete the tag. Removing the tag will remove it from only the media item you are within, renaming the tag will rename it across all media items that the tag is applied to, deleting the tag will delete it from all media items it was applied to, and delete it from the Dashboard as a tag that can be added. Scripture tags can only be removed from the media item you are currently in by pressing the X next to the tag.

There is no way to recover deleted tags, so be sure you want to completely remove the tag from the Dashboard and all media items before confirming.
