Show underlying data

Viewing the underlying data of your chart gives you an un-aggregated, granular view of the data that comprises your result set.

This feature allows you to fully understand the components of a chart. For example, if you search for "amount, campus name, unique count, transaction id", the resulting chart shows the number of transactions for each campus and the giving amount those transactions equate to. You can then right-click any row and select Show underlying data to view the individual values that contribute to the total revenue for that specific region.

Keep in mind that only the first 1,000 rows appear when viewing the underlying data. However, you can download a CSV file of the full results, with a limit of one million rows.

Trends does not support showing underlying data for searches based on schemas with chasm traps.

To show underlying data:

  1. Right-click the visualization or table cell of interest

  2. Select Show underlying data.

    1. A new window opens that displays a summary and the underlying data. In this example, you can see the transaction ID for each gift to this specific campus.

  3. Optionally, choose to Edit Columns to add additional data.

  4. Select Done.

  5. Select Download CSV to download a CSV file of the data.
