When a user deletes their account, their profile becomes inactive in your Dashboard. For security and privacy purposes, only the user can delete their own account. Dashboard users cannot delete a profile on behalf of a user. If you'd like to remove someone from your People list, you can archive their profile, which hides it from your Dashboard but does not delete it.
What changes when a profile is deleted
User-deleted profiles will not appear when searching for people in the People section of your Dashboard, and they cannot be merged with other profiles. However, deleted profiles are still included when searching in the Gifts list. Their deleted profile and contact information remain associated with their gifts. Additionally, they will be removed from all groups and households, and their notes will be deleted.
What Giving Managers can access
If the deleted user has giving history, a Giving Manager can still view limited details on their profile, including their contact information and donation records. A banner at the top of the profile will indicate that the person deleted their account and that full details are unavailable.
To access the deleted profile, follow these steps:
Navigate to Giving > Gifts.
Search for the deleted donor, and click on one of their gifts.
Within the gift details, click on the donor's name in the top left.
This will take you to the deleted user’s giving details. Click their name at the top of the screen to view their profile and contact information.
If a deleted user has giving history, Subsplash will include them when generating tax statements.
Restoring a deleted profile
If a donor deleted their profile by mistake and would like to regain access to their giving history, they can simply sign up for an account using the same email address. This will restore access to their previous giving history. A Dashboard user cannot restore a user-deleted profile.
