If you are using the previous version of Check-in, check out our Legacy Check-in resources here.

Create an Event

Create and publish a new Event in your dashboard, with the Event set to start any time in the next hour, so that the Check-in window is open when you’re looking at the Event.

Give your Event a name and remember to publish it!

Go to the Check-in tab for your Test Event:

Adjust the Check-in window to be open whenever you’re looking at the Event:

Optional - Create Sessions within your Event

Not every Event needs multiple Sessions, and that’s ok! When an Event has only a single Session, the Check-in experience is simplified for guests, so they don’t even need to think about them.

However, Sessions help you refine your Check-in experience. Set up your Sessions to reflect the attendance options available for guests checking in, like different classes, rooms, or grade-based gatherings. Use the "Suggest Session" option to suggest a specific session based on age or Grade level:

Suggested sessions follow these steps until a match has been found:

  1. If only one default session is available for the event, suggest the default session.

  2. If a grade or age change has happened since their last check-in, skip to 4. (Child only)

  3. Suggest the same session as their most recent check-in from the same repeating event. (Only applicable for Repeating Events)

  4. Suggest based on the Grade of the child. (Child only)

  5. Suggest based on the Age of the child. (Child only)

  6. If none of the above triggers a suggestion, then leave the field blank, requiring the user to select a session manually.

Adults will also follow the same suggestions logic, but due to lack of age and grade details, adults will be suggested based on 1, 3, & 6.

Once your test Event is ready, select "Confirm" and "Publish". It should appear in the Today section of the Check-in overview page:

Make sure to Publish your Event! If it’s unpublished, it won’t appear on your Kiosk Device.
