vMix is a powerful software encoder available on Windows machines.

If you are running into non-disconnection related issues with vMix, please reach out to their support team directly. They will be able to serve you best!

In addition, Subsplash Support may ask you to send vMix Support your logs directly, as they will best be able to interpret them.

Requirements

  • vMix

  • A text editor like the Notepad app

  • Access to the Subsplash Dashboard

SRT Streaming

vMix's SRT settings are in a different place than the RTMP streaming outputs. They will be found in the Settings menu.

  1. Navigate to the Settings menu within vMix:

  2. Select Outputs / NDI / SRT:

  3. Choose the output you want to stream, and select the settings cog wheel next to it. Make sure to check the box next to Enable SRT as well.

  4. Grab your Subsplash Live RS Stream/Server URL. This is found in the Subsplash Dashboard, under Media-->Settings. Your Hostname will be srt://live-rs.subsplash.com and your Port Number will be 8080. For your "Stream ID" select everything after "streamid=" in your Server URL, up to, but not including the "&".

  5. Make sure to select OK at the bottom of that menu.

  6. To start streaming, start streaming as normal via the Stream button. If SRT is connected, you will also see a SRT callout above the video preview windows:
