This guide outlines the steps to integrate Subsplash Giving as the financial gateway for your event registrations within Rock RMS, allowing for seamless payment collection directly through the registration flow.
If you have not completed Rock Plugin set up, please do so before continuing.
Add the obsidian event registration block
Before you can collect payments, you'll need the right block in place. The Obsidian Registration Entry Block (Obsidian > Event β Registration Entry) is essential for processing Subsplash payments within Rock RMS, and it's readily available in Rock version 13 and higher. While it comes with Rock, you'll need to manually place this block on your external website.
You have two main paths to get this done:
Replace the existing block on your current /registration page. This is often the simplest route if you're new to Rock's event registration features.
Create a brand-new page dedicated to the Obsidian block. This option offers flexibility if you're already using registration heavily. It lets you test out the new block and the Subsplash payment connection without disrupting your current processes. You can gradually transition your registrations to the new setup, phasing out older forms over time.
For more detailed instructions on configuring your external Rock site for event registration, always refer to the Rock RMS manual.
Set your Subsplash financial gateway on the template
Once your Obsidian block is ready, it's time to tell your registration templates to use Subsplash for payments.
Navigate to the Tools icon in the left-hand navigation bar and select "Event Registration."
Choose an existing event template and click "Edit," or create a new one by clicking "+".
As you're creating or editing your event template, scroll down to the "Set Cost On" section. Here, you'll find the "Financial Gateway" dropdown. Select "Subsplash."
Remember, you can set this at either the Registration Template or the specific Registration Instance level, giving you control over where the payment gateway is applied.
Don't forget to click "Save" to apply your changes.
Finish setting up the event and publish
You're almost there! Continue through the Rock Event registration wizard to finalize your event details.
Once your event is live and published on your calendar, your community can start registering. They'll experience a smooth, integrated payment process, completing their registration and payment directly through Subsplash Giving, without ever leaving your Rock RMS event page.
Sync transactions with a Rock job
To make sure payments show in Rock as transactions a job can be set up to automatically sync Subsplash and Rock.
If you are syncing Subsplash Giving Donations already then this step can be skipped as it is the same job.
In Admin > System Settings > Job Administration and click + to add a new Job. Look for "Sync Subsplash Donations (Plugin)" and select your Subsplash Financial Gateway.
Your Cron Expression will be how often this job runs, we recommend at least nightly. Your number of days back to sync should be set to at least 14 days to cover ACH processing times.
Viewing payments in Subsplash
When using the Subsplash financial gateway on Rock event registrations, your payments will show up in Subsplash Giving > Payments associated with the users profile who registered.
These payments will be included your Subsplash transfers and sync over to Rock in your financial batches similar to Donations from Subsplash Giving.
