If using Subsplash Messaging, the Group sync feature of the Rock Plugin allows a bidirectional sync of Group membership for your People. For more information on Subsplash Groups & Messaging, see this article.
Enable Group Sync
After initial setup of the plugin, make sure to check the Group Sync Enabled box within the Settings of the plugin.
Group Sync Settings
In version 2.1.10, once group sync is enabled within the Settings of the plugin, you can control global directionality settings for syncing group members from Rock groups to Subsplash groups.
The wording within the settings does use "member" but these do apply to both members/leaders in Rock and members/managers in Subsplash.
Group Attribute Value
Installed with the plugin is a group attribute value that you will need to make available on any Group Types you wish to sync with a Subsplash group.
You can do so under Admin Tools > General Settings > Groups Types
Once it's available in the Group Type, navigate to a group and set the desired Subsplash Group from its dropdown now under Group Attribute Values
Since this option is per group, you do not have to sync all your Rock groups to Subsplash. It could be specific groups or based on the group type depending on your set up.
Create a Group
If a Subsplash group does not exist yet to make the connection, you can opt to create the group from with in Rock. It also allows users to specify group visibility settings (Open, Closed, or Request to Join) when creating a Subsplash group.
Group Sync Job
Lastly, create a job to sync group members as often as you need. With the plugin a Job Type will be installed called "Sync Subsplash Groups (Plugin)" and you will want to create a Job with it set to your ideal interval - we recommend nightly.
Sync Behavior
Now that your job is set up, each time it runs it will use the group sync settings and group attribute above to determine what groups it needs to update in Rock, Subsplash, or both.
User Mappings
A "leader" in Rock will be a "manager" in Subsplash and "member" is shared between both platforms. If you need more information about what managers can do in Subsplash groups, check out this article.
