Welcome! This guide includes everything you'll need to launch Subsplash Groups. If you'd like to go a step further, schedule a call with your Client Success Manager (CSM)! You can set up a call with yours from the Home page of your Subsplash Dashboard.

Tip! We’ve seen that clients who work with a CSM see an average rate of adoption twice as high as those who do not.

Step 1: Identify Your Groups and Leaders

Identify your Groups

While you wait for Groups to be activated in your app, identify how you want to use this tool, and decide which ministries will be utilizing it. Maybe it will be your small groups, service teams, or other ministries. Start by selecting a one, we typically recommend starting with your small group ministry and expanding from there, but Subsplash Groups can be used for any type of group you might run.

Identify your Leaders

Now take some time to pull together a list of email addresses for the leaders of the groups or ministries you selected. These people will be invited as Channel Managers in Step 2. They will be able to set up their group in Messaging, invite people to join it, the moderate the conversation.

If your groups and channel manager are decided, and you have heard back from our team here at Subsplash that Messaging has been activated, go ahead and move on to Step 2.

Tip! Wondering what the difference is between an App administrator and a Channel Owner? Check out our article on How Messaging Works!

Step 2: Invite Your Leaders

Invite yourself

Once Subsplash Groups is live you can really get going on rolling out this feature! The first thing you need to do is simply invite yourself as a Channel Owner in the Subsplash Dashboard and accept the invite.

For a full guide on how to invite yourself check out our guide on How to Invite Channel Managers.

Create a channel

Now that you are a channel owner, we recommend that you go into your updated app, open up messaging in the side menu, and create a channel. Name that channel something like Groups Leadership and then invite all the leaders of the groups you identified in step 1 as participants.

For a full guide on how to do this check out the article Getting Started as a Channel Owner.

Tip! We recommend sending out an email to all the leaders beforehand to let them know to be on the lookout for an invite.

Invite Channel Managers

Use this channel as a place to do a soft launch and explain to the leaders how you will be using this feature and how they can use it too. At this point, you can invite each of those leaders to be Channel Managers as well so they can begin to create and plan for their own channels.

Once all your leaders have been invited you’ll want to prepare them for Step 3 by having them review our guide on Getting Started as a Channel Owner.

Step 3: Start Communicating

Now that your leaders have experienced Subsplash Groups and have become Channel Managers, they can begin communicating and engaging with your community on a more individual level.

To complete step 3, all you need to do is encourage your new Channel Managers to create their channels, invite their participants, and then get chatting!

Conclusion

We’re creating a place where people can get connected, grow in discipleship, and be equipped to share the Gospel; a place where church leaders can get a deeper understanding of the health of their communities and know how to better shepherd their church. In-app messaging is just the start, and we’re building on this foundation to help you solve the real problems your ministry faces every day.

Tip! Still wondering if you should schedule a call with a CSM? Engagement calls only take 15 minutes, and they're effective! Head to your Dashboard to schedule yours.
