A pie (or circle) chart is a statistical graphic that divides data into distinct slices to illustrate numerical proportion. The arc length of each slice in a pie chart is proportional to the specific quantity it represents.

This classic chart type displays your search results within a circle. By default, the pie chart in Trends AI presents data in the shape of a doughnut, or a thick ring.

How Pie Charts Divide Data

Pie charts segment your data into sections, where each section represents a proportion of the entire circle. To display both the exact values and the percentage values for every slice, simply follow these steps: Select the Chart configuration icon > Settings > All labels.

To be properly represented as a pie chart, your search must meet two requirements:

  • It needs at least one attribute and one measure.

  • The attribute column must contain fewer than 250 unique values.

Pie charts do not support conditional formatting.
