Sharing your content from the Subsplash platform, whether in the app or on the web, is made simple.

At Subsplash, we take advantage of Universal Links, which is a link technology that allows content to open in the app if the user has it installed, or fall back to the web if they do not. These links can be sent out in messages, email, or push notifications, but can also be linked to QR Codes and Subsplash Tap.

Sharing content from the Dashboard

Within the Subsplash Dashboard, you can use the Share Card (pictured below) to share your content in different ways:

The Share Card can be found in several areas of the dashboard with shareable content, including Media Items, Live, and Groups. The options available in the Share Card include:

  • Copy Link: This will be a web URL that can be copied and sent out by pasting the URL.

  • QR Codes: These can be printed or added to signage, your Sunday screen presentation, or added anywhere a QR code could be! When creating a QR code in the Library > Links section of your Dashboard, the QR code's link can be changed, and it will update dynamically!

  • View: This will bring you to the Web App.

  • Tap: This link is only available in the Library > Links section of your Dashboard, but this is where you can purchase Tap discs and stands. Similar to QR codes, the link can be dynamically updated in Links.

  • Notify: This allows you to add the item to a Push Notification and send it out via the mobile app!

Examples

These are some of the most popular use cases for using QR codes and Subsplash Tap:

  • Link trees: Link trees are pages created in SnapPages, where a grouping of links is added to the page, so you can have multiple links added here. These can then be linked to QR codes or Tap products! Learn more about creating them here.

  • Connect card: Attach a URL for a connect card form or to a web page with a form on it that allows you to capture and then connect with new users. Add the form to Workflows to ensure follow-up! Learn more about Workflows here.

  • Subsplash Giving: Select Subsplash Giving as the link type to set your giving URL as the destination. Learn more about Subsplash Giving links here.

Sharing content from your App and Website

Your users can also share your content in different ways from your app and website.

App

To share content from the app, look for the share icon within Media, Media Series, Groups, Events, etc. You can even share the app as a whole from the app menu! Sharing will open your device's native share options, and from there, you will see your standard options like Message, Copy, Airdrop, etc. Whatever method you choose will share the unique URL. If the receiving user has the app installed, it will take them right to it, or to the web.

Website

Sharing from the web is identical to the instructions above. Look for the share icon and select your method of sharing. Because you are in your browser, there is the additional option of simply copying your URL and pasting it as is.

Sharing from the web does not use Universal Links, as that is an app-specific technology.

FAQs

Can I customize the QR code or change the colors at all?

Yes, but not via Subsplash. Once you download and save your QR code, you can use any photo editing or graphic design software to modify your QR code. You can resize it, change the colors, etc then distribute as you need.

Can you change the URL destination of a QR code or Subsplash Tap product?

Yes! Swap out the URL of the specific Link Item at any time to change the destination of the QR code/Tap dynamically.

Where are my QR codes/Tap links saved?

The QR code/Tap product is attached to the link item and can be found at any time by revisiting that Link item in your Dashboard. If the Link Item is deleted, the QR code will no longer function.

Is there any sort of link tracking or analytics?

Not at the moment. We would be happy to hear your feedback around this to track demand!
