If you are using the previous version of Check-in, check out our Legacy Check-in resources HERE.
Kiosk Device
Kiosk Devices are individual pieces of hardware (iPads) connected to your Subsplash account through the Check-in app.
Kiosk Devices are set up using a QR code or setup code from the Dashboard.
The behavior of a Kiosk Device can be adjusted by changing the Kiosk Type for the Kiosk Device.
Example: To set up a new Kiosk Device, scan the QR code below
Kiosk Type
Kiosk Types are saved configurations of Check-in settings. When you set up a Kiosk Device, you’ll select a Kiosk Type for the device to use.
Kiosk Types contain different settings like an idle background image, calendar filters, print & label settings, and more.
You can keep things simple with just a single Kiosk Type, so all your Kiosk Devices work the same way, or create multiple Kiosk Types to offer different Check-in experiences depending on the Kiosk Device.
Example: Choose a Kiosk Type for this Kiosk Device
Kiosk Passcode
While using a Kiosk Device in Check-in mode, some settings are locked behind a Kiosk Passcode to prevent unwanted changes by guests.
Entering the Kiosk Passcode when prompted on the Kiosk Device will give you access to additional admin settings and features.
This passcode works for all Kiosk Devices connected to your Subsplash account, so be mindful of who has access to this code.
Example: Time to update the Kiosk Passcode.
Check-in mode
A mode that can be enabled by a Volunteer viewing the Admin Settings in the Subsplash Check-in app, running on a Kiosk Device.
Enabling Guest Check-in Mode is the last step a Volunteer must take before Guests can start checking themselves in.
A few things change when check-in mode is toggled on:
After the Kiosk Device is idle for 30 seconds, the check-in UX will reset, and present a "Touch to check in" message, along with an idle background image
Guests or Admins must enter the Kiosk Passcode to access additional settings like Roll Call, Kiosk Type, or Print settings.
