Customize your Kiosk Types

While the devices (iPads) that families use to check in on Sunday morning are called Kiosk Devices, the unique set of check-in settings you apply to these devices are referred to as Kiosk Types. Kiosk Type settings include the idle background image, calendar filters, and print & label settings.

You can keep it simple with just a single Kiosk Type, so all your Kiosk Devices work the same, or create multiple Kiosk Types to offer different Check-in experiences depending on the Kiosk Device.

If you’d like to customize your existing Kiosk Types or create new ones, you can do so on the Check-in page:

Here’s what editing a Kiosk Type looks like:

We’ve provided a “Default Kiosk Type” that you can use right away, but if you’d like to customize your kiosk settings, here’s a breakdown of those settings:

Idle background image

Customize the look and feel of your Kiosk Devices when idle.

  • This animated image will appear when Check-in mode is enabled and your Kiosk Device has been idle for 30 seconds. Change it to showcase your brand on your Kiosk Device.

  • The 4000 x 4000 image will ensure a high-resolution background for Kiosk Devices of all screen sizes.

Calendar filter

Use the Calendar filter to limit the Events that appear on Kiosk Devices. By default, the Calendar filter will show Events from all Calendars:

You can choose to show Events only from specific Calendars:

Consider setting up multiple Kiosk Types (with different Calendar filters applied) to manage a group of Kiosk Devices specific to an age or grade. This will ensure only relevant Events appear on those Kiosk Devices.

Print guest labels

Controls whether or not labels will print when a person checks in to your Event.

Security codes

Controls whether or not security codes are printed on guest labels and displayed within the Check-in app.

Print guest labels must be enabled for this setting to work.
