To submit and update apps on your Apple Developer account, it is required that your developer account is set up as an Organization account, as opposed to an Individual account. Luckily, if you've already set up your account as an Individual, you can work with Apple to have your account switched over to an Organization account. Follow the instructions in this article to get started!

Step 1: Find your D-U-N-S Number

The D-U-N-S Number is a unique ID provided by Dun & Bradstreet, used to verify the legal status of organizations. Apple requires a D-U-N-S Number to verify your organization upon signing up for an Apple Developer account. Click here to get started!

Step 2: Contact Apple

Your next step will be to contact Apple to initiate an account change request. You can click here to submit a request with Apple's support team.

Note: You may be asked to submit business documents to verify your organization’s identity. We recommend having a legal representative, or someone with granted authority, present to provide this information if possible.

Step 3: Reply to Apple's Follow-up Email

For most of our clients who have gone through this process, we have found that Apple will often send a follow-up email, asking for additional information to verify your account. Your email may include some of the following questions:

• Your organization’s legal entity name in Roman characters:
• Your organization’s website URL:
• Your organization’s D-U-N-S Number:

1. Are you the founder or co-founder of this organization?
2. Does this organization operate as a branch?
3. Does this organization use a DBA, fictitious name, or trade name?
4. Does this organization already hold an active or expired Apple Developer Program membership?
5. What kind of Tax ID, if any, is associated with your current individual membership?

If Apple does not send this follow-up email, which is possible when this information is provided over the phone, skip ahead to Step 4.

Step 4: Wait for Apple's Response

Once you've provided the necessary information, Apple will then ask you to verify a few processes in order to begin the migration of your account over to an Organization account:

  1. Your Apple Developer Program Apple ID must have two-factor authentication turned on. Click here to learn more about two-factor authentication!

  2. The Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles portal is unavailable during the migration process. Access to all other developer resources, including App Store Connect, remains intact.

  3. After the migration is complete, your legal entity name will apply to all apps that you distribute on the App Store.

  4. Sales and Trends reports for the individual membership will not be available after the migration is complete.

  5. Earnings made before the migration completes are sent to the bank account that was active when the migration started. To change the destination of these earnings, you must change the bank account before the migration starts.

Warning: Be sure to reply back to Apple once you've verified two-factor authentication and verified your awareness of these additional factors on your account so that they know to initiate the migration!
