As you manage your community's generosity, there may be times when you need to adjust how a gift is allocated. Whether a donor reached out with a correction or your team needs to reorganize funds, Subsplash allows Giving Managers to easily update designation details for completed gifts. This ensures your financial records remain accurate and your donors feel confident that their contributions are being used as intended.
Editing gift details
On the Gift detail page, a Giving Manager can edit the gift designation details, including the Campus, Fund, Sub-fund, and any splits. To do this, follow these steps:
Search for the gift you wish to edit and open the gift's detail page by clicking on it.
Select the pencil icon in the top right to edit.
Make changes to the designation details.
Select Save.
After a designation has been changed, an activity timeline will show below. This timeline includes details on what was changed, which Giving Manager made the change, and the date and time of the update.
The donor will immediately receive an email notifying them that their gift designation was changed.

This feature applies to gifts that have already been processed. While you cannot edit a recurring gift setup itself, you can update a specific gift instance after it has processed. To change how future gifts are allocated, the donor will need to edit their recurring gift.

At this time, the only fields that can be edited are the Campus, Fund, Sub-fund, and any splits. If the amount was incorrect, the gift would need to be refunded, and the donor could give again with the corrected amount.

If you are using a donation integration such as Rock, PCO, CCB, or Breeze, Subsplash will not sync these changes to those platforms. You will need to manually edit the gift designation within your other system to ensure both platforms match.
