On your Giving > Funds page, you will be able to set up your fund structure to match the goals of your organization.
Funds and sub-funds allow donors to choose where they would like a donation to go. Great ideas for funds are a general fund, a benevolence fund, a building fund, or a local missions fund.
Setting up Funds
Navigate to Giving > Funds in your dashboard.
Click Add Fund in the top right.
Fill out the information for your fund, then click Create in the bottom right.
By default, all newly created funds will be unpublished to ensure it doesn't go live before they're ready. Once you're ready to publish a fund, hover over the series of dots on the left of the fund name to click and drag the fund up to the Published area. Funds can be rearranged using the same click-and-drag method.
In order to unpublish a fund, use the click-and-drag feature to move your fund into the Unpublished section. This will prevent the fund from showing up on your Giving page.
Avoid changing the name of a fund, as this will change the fund name on past donations.
Archiving Funds
In order to archive a fund, click the three dots on the right of the fund and select Archive Fund.
Funds can only be archived if there are no gifts associated with them. Otherwise, they can only be Unpublished.
Setting up Sub-funds
Sub-funds allow you to break up your funds into smaller groupings. For example, the Missions Fund could contain sub-funds for different countries or missionary families.
To set up sub-funds, follow these steps:
Click the 3 vertical dots on the far right of the fund to which you wish to add a sub-fund.
Click Add Sub-Fund.
Fill out the name (and description if desired), and click Save.
To rearrange your Sub-Funds, hover over the series of dots on the left of the sub-fund name to click and drag it into your desired order.
Avoid changing the name of a sub-fund, as this will change the sub-fund name on past donations.
The slider on the right of each sub-fund will allow you to enable or disable it as needed.
At this time, sub-funds can be toggled off, but cannot be archived, deleted, or merged.
Funds & Integrations
If you use a church management system or donor management system, regardless of whether you use an automated integration or manual import process, it is best practice to set up your fund structure in Subsplash to match the fund structure in your third-party system.
For example, if you have a General fund with a sub-fund (referred to as a child fund in some systems) called Tithes in your management system, then it is recommended that you create a General fund and a sub-fund called Tithes in Giving. Click here to learn more about integrations!
Campuses
With Campuses enabled, your donors will be able to select which campus they would like to give to. This will also help you keep track of your donations within the Dashboard. To learn more about managing funds and campuses, please check out our Campuses article.
Fund Codes
Custom Fund Codes is a custom field in Subsplash Giving that we can enable for you manually. This field is used for exporting Subsplash Giving Data to third-party platforms, which you can read more about in this article. If you don't see Custom Fund Codes in your Subsplash Giving Dashboard, submit a ticket and we'll enable this for you.
