Boards act like dashboards. They are collections of your related charts, tables, and headlines.

What are Boards

You can pin charts and tables to any Board that you created, and those that have been shared with you with the Edit privilege. When you create a Board, you can share it with other people with either the View or Edit privilege. You can collaborate with other users on a Board by commenting and reacting to comments. Boards are interactive, allowing you to perform actions like filtering, excluding values, and drill down on the visualizations.

Create a Board

To create a Board:

  1. Select Boards on the left side menu.

  2. Select Create Board on the Board list page.

  3. Give your board a name and description. Then, select Create.

Add a Chart to a Board

Instead of saving a Chart you can add it to a Board. To add a Chart to a Board:

  1. While viewing your Chart, select the Pin button at the upper right of the Chart. The Pin button may have a Board or Board tab name next to it. Select Pin to quickly pin the Chart to that Board or Board tab. Select the dropdown menu to pin the Chart to a different Board.

  2. After clicking the dropdown menu, you can choose a Board to pin your chart to, and you can also click + Create Board to quickly create a new Board.

  3. If the Board has multiple tabs, there is an arrow > symbol next to the Boar name. When you select the Board, you'll see all the tabs in the Board, from which you can choose a tab to pin the chart to, or create a new tab by selecting + Create tab.

  4. Once you have made your selection, click Pin to confirm your selection and add the chart to the selected Board.

Download a Board

You can download a Board as a PDF file, without having to download each visualization separately. Simply select the More menu, represented by the 3 dots, and select Download PDF.

Details about a Board

To view details about your Board, click the More menu, represented by the 3 dots, then click Show Board details.

You can view the following details about a Board:

  • Name: The name of the Board.

  • Description: A short description of the Board's intention.

  • Data source: Indicates the list of underlying data sources used to create the visualizations in the Board.

  • Author: The name of the Board's author.

  • Created on: The date that the Board was created on.

  • Last modified on: The date that the Board was last modified.

  • Last modified by: The name of the user who last modified the Board.

Edit a Board

To enter edit mode, select the Edit button at the upper right of the Board.

If this button is grayed out, you do not have edit privileges for the Board. To resolve this, contact your administrator or the creator of the Board.

Other Board actions

You can see additional options when you select the More menu icon, represented by the 3 dots, in the upper-right corner of the Board. There are different options in the More menu for the Board, depending on whether you are in view or edit mode.

If you make a change to a Board in Edit mode, you must save your changes. Select the Save button in the top menu bar to make your changes permanent.
