Use this guide to connect your printer to Wi-Fi. Once you get your printer connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPad, you should be ready to start testing Check-in.

We extracted the good stuff out of Brother support articles in the screenshots below.

You will need your Wi-Fi SSID (network name) and password (network key) of your Wi-Fi access point/router.

You will need a USB cable to connect your printer to your computer temporarily.

How to start over if something goes wrong

If you cannot connect or want to start over, try these steps:

Do Not use Wireless Direct Mode

Do Not use Wireless Direct Mode—use Infrastructure Mode or WPS.

You cannot connect to the internet via Wi-Fi while using “Wireless Direct”. Using the “Wireless Direct” mode on its own will disconnect your iPad from the internet. An internet connection is required to run Check-in, so this mode will not work.

Instead, connect your printer to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPad (Infrastructure Mode), using a Network name and password, or WPS button on your router. That way your iPad can stay connected to the internet, and communicate with your printer.
