Text to Give is a free feature that's available to all Subsplash Giving clients. With Text to Give, your organization will have a unique code that donors can text to a toll-free phone number. Right after they send the text, they'll get a reply with a link to your Subsplash Giving page. Using this link, they will be able to give as a guest or create a donor account where they can set up a recurring gift. This is an easy way to share your Subsplash Giving link with people who haven't downloaded your app yet.

Setting up Text-to-Give
Step 1: Identify Your Keyword
You must test your keywords to ensure that they are available before requesting Text-to-Give.
Keywords must be 4-20 characters long
Keywords cannot have spaces, dashes, or any special characters
Consider adding numbers to your keyword to set it apart from other organizations, such as "GRACE98122"
We recommend avoiding words that autocorrect to something else in your phone. Try typing the keyword into your phone to make sure it doesn't autocorrect
Keywords are not case-sensitive
Many common words, including give and giving are already in use. Test to see if your keyword is available by texting the keyword to 1-888-364-GIVE (4483). If you don't get a response, the keyword is still available! Please test and find two available keywords.
Step 2: Request Text-to-Give Setup from the Subsplash Assistant
To set up text to give, ask the Subsplash Assistant (the "?" on the bottom right of your screen) "text to give" and follow the prompts. If you have already started, you can select "go back" or start a new conversation.
The Subsplash Assistant will prompt you to enter your two keywords and these are the words your donors will send to give to your organization. If your first keyword is taken, we'll use your second choice.
After you complete these steps in the Subsplash Assistant, our team will be notified and start working on it, they will let you know as soon as your keyword is connected to your account. It typically takes around 3-5 business days to complete this request.
FAQ
What devices does Text to Give work with?
Text to Give will work for all devices that support SMS and web links. This includes phones, tablets, and Smart Watches that have the capability of supporting SMS. While the Giving link will be sent to Smart Watches, the link will only be usable on the paired phone due to the limitations of Smart Watches. Tablets that receive SMS will have the functionality to complete the full Text to Give process as long as they are connected to the internet.
What if we want to use the new Text-to-Give phone number?
If Subsplash set up your Text to Give number before August 7th, 2019, the Text to Give phone number was 206-859-9405. That number is still active. If you would like to use our new toll-free number, please feel free to submit another Text to Give request.
