Activate Subsplash Giving

Within your Subsplash Dashboard, select Giving and click Activate!

To start using Subsplash Giving, information regarding your organization will need to be submitted and approved. If at any point in this process, we ask for additional documentation, we'll request it via email. These requests will be sent from: merchantops@subsplash.com

You can always track your setup progress on the Welcome page. Flip between slides using the arrows on the bottom of each slide.

Step 1: Verify Your Information

To start processing gifts, information regarding your organization will need to be verified. The information needed can vary based on your situation, but will often be easy to fill out by you or your account owner. Verifying this information helps us prove that your organization can legally collect charitable donations.

If the tax ID is correct and matches your organization name, the account will be verified and you can start processing gifts! (sample SS-4 and 147C forms).

Step 2: Inviting Users

Within your Subsplash Dashboard, please navigate to Settings and select Users. These are individuals who will help manage Subsplash Giving along with your app and website depending on the permissions that are granted to them. Click on Invite User in the upper right corner, enter the person’s name and email address, and select the proper Roles. Once finished, select Invite User

and they will receive an invitation email!

Tip! Giving Managers will have access to donations records; therefore, we recommended only inviting those who will be involved with finances. For additional information on User Roles, please visit our article, Managing Dashboard Users.

Step 3: Submit a Test Gift

Now that your organization has been approved through Step 1, we recommend setting up a Donor Account and submitting a test gift to experience the platform firsthand!

Step 4: Add a Bank Account

This step will link a depository bank account to your Subsplash Dashboard. The donations and payments will be paid out to this bank account on a weekly basis. With the default deposit schedule, your bank will receive a payout weekly on Wednesdays. For more information, please review this article!

Step 5: Get Approved to Receive Bank Transfers

Our team will review your account information 1-2 business days after your signup date. Bank transfers will be disabled until the account information is approved by our Merchant Ops team.

Our team may request additional documentation from you via merchantops@subsplash.com to approve payouts to your bank account.

Additional Documents that may be requested:

  • Tax Documents - Subsplash Giving can only be used for charitable donations, so we need to verify that your organization is tax-exempt.

  • For churches - Subsplash accepts a few document types in order to establish your tax-exempt status

    • A 501(c)(3) determination letter issued by the IRS

    • A state non-profit incorporation letter

    • Your organization’s articles of incorporation

  • For non-church entities - We require that the organization has a 501(c)(3) determination or documentation showing that this has been applied for with the IRS.

  • DBA - If your organization’s legal and common names differ, we require a DBA (Doing Business As) document to establish the connection between the two organization names. The following documents are accepted: a certificate, a trade name/fictitious name certificate, or a receipt from the Secretary of State.

  • Proof of Affiliation - If your church is affiliated with a parent organization, such as Foursquare, Assemblies of God, etc., and is covered under the parent organization group exemption, we require the following:

    • The parent organization determination letter from the IRS

    • A letter from the parent organization that names your church as an affiliated church.

  • Additional Documentation - additional information or documentation outside of these items may be requested. Our underwriting team will reach out to you directly.

Step 7: Strategize Your Launch

Every Subsplash client has their own Onboarding Specialist (OBS) and a Client Success Manager (CSM). These two individuals are dedicated to helping you get the most out of the Subsplash tools! Your OBS will help you establish your Subsplash Account and get acquainted with its tools. Once you have been onboarded your CSM will become your main point of contact!

Your CSM will help you strategize the launch of Giving and any other Subsplash tools. You can schedule a call with your CSM by logging into your Dashboard and scrolling to the bottom of the Home page:

We’ve found that clients who work with a CSM process twice as much in online giving as clients who do not on average.

Once you've set up your Giving Dashboard settings, you'll want to add Subsplash Giving to your website and app! Check out the Adding Subsplash Giving to Your Website & App article where we break down the different ways you can display Subsplash Giving to your users.
