StudioC offers a powerful suite of engagement services, and it has turned into a very popular option to bring into a Subsplash app.

We have worked with the team at StudioC to provide a few SSO solutions to use your member dashboard in a Subsplash app. However, at the moment, no other official integration is available.

Custom Browser Tab

The simplest way to integrate StudioC's Member Dashboard into your Subsplash app is by utilizing our "Browser Tab" feature. This allows you to embed a web page directly within your app, providing a seamless user experience.

  1. Obtain Your StudioC Member Dashboard URL: Your StudioC account provides a unique URL for your church's Member Dashboard. This is the web address that users would typically visit in a web browser to access their personalized content.

  2. Navigate to Your Subsplash Dashboard: Log in to your Subsplash Dashboard.

  3. Create a New Tab: Go to the "Mobile App" section and select "Manage Tabs."

  4. Add a "Browser Tab": Choose the option to add a new "Browser Tab."

  5. Configure the Tab:

    1. Give it a Title: Choose a clear and inviting title, such as "My Dashboard," "Member Hub," or "Next Steps."

    2. Select an Icon: Pick an icon that visually represents a personalized experience.

    3. Paste the StudioC URL: In the URL field, paste the Member Dashboard URL you obtained from StudioC.

    4. Set the "Handler" to internalBrowser showTabBar showBrowserBar - this is important as the member dashboard requires page navigate (forward backward) to work well.

Benefits of this Approach

  • Simplicity: This method is straightforward to set up and requires no complex technical knowledge.

  • Centralized Access: Members can easily find and access their personalized dashboard directly within your church's app.

  • Familiar Interface: The StudioC Member Dashboard will function as it does on the web, providing a consistent experience.

Considerations

  • Login Required: Users will still need to log in to their StudioC Member Dashboard when they access it through the custom browser tab. This means they might have a separate login from their Subsplash app login, if you are not using SSO.

  • Limited Deep Integration: This method is essentially displaying a webpage; it doesn't allow for direct data exchange or dynamic content synchronization between Subsplash and StudioC beyond what's available through the web view.

Advanced Use Case with Single Sign-On (SSO)

For churches seeking a truly seamless and powerful experience, integrating StudioC's Single Sign-On (SSO) into your Subsplash app is the more advanced option. SSO allows users to log in once to your Subsplash app and automatically be authenticated within their StudioC Member Dashboard, eliminating the need for separate logins. This unlocks the full potential of StudioC's personalized capabilities within your app.

How SSO Elevates the Experience

  • One-Tap Access: Once logged into your Subsplash app, members can tap on the Member Dashboard tab and be immediately immersed in their personalized StudioC content without re-entering credentials.

  • Enhanced Personalization: With SSO, StudioC can fully leverage its capabilities to provide highly personalized content, next steps, and communications based on the authenticated user's profile and engagement history. This creates a truly tailored experience for each individual.

  • Streamlined User Journey: Reduce friction and encourage greater engagement by removing login barriers.

StudioC SSO

StudioC offers a SSO solution for Subsplash that does not involve a third party CHMS, you can bring your StudioC login into the Subsplash app and replace our out of the box options (Email, Apple, and Google). This is great option to reduce log in friction if your CHMS does not offer a SSO solution or if Subsplash is your CHMS.

CHMS/Custom SSO

If your current CHMS supports SSO and both StudioC/Subsplash support their implementation of it, then it can be used as the centralized log in for both platforms. A great example here is Rock RMS which via our Rock Plugin can use OIDC SSO in your Subsplash app along side StudioC.

Implementing SSO

  1. Consult StudioC, Subsplash, and any third parties: at the moment SSO requires coordination between Subsplash, StudioC, and you the client. If there is a third party CHMS involved you will want to ensure both us and StudioC support implementation of that platforms SSO. You will want to connect with your account managers/client success managers on both teams to kick off the process and make sure you are on the right package in Subsplash.

  2. Configure SSO within StudioC

    1. StudioC login: StudioC will begin the work to enable SSO and provide the required details to Subsplash so that StudioC login can be used in your app.

    2. CHMS/custom login: If a third party CHMS is involved then they will implement the third parties SSO instead of using StudioC login. These same details will need to be provided to Subsplash in the step below.

  3. Configure SSO within Subsplash

    1. StudioC login: With the details from StudioC we will enable their login in your app while disabling the default Subsplash log in options, now passing user authentication to StudioC.

    2. CHMS/custom login: We will ask for the details and implement your third party/custom SSO solution while disabling the default Subsplash log in options, now passing user authentication to the third party.
