Charts featuring x- and y-axes can display gridlines to enhance readability. Y-axis gridlines provide horizontal lines across your visualization, while x-axis gridlines provide vertical lines.

How to enable gridlines

To display gridlines on your visualization, follow these steps:

  1. While viewing your Chart, select the Axis icon on the right to open the configuration menu.

  2. Toggle on the Advanced button.

  3. Select gridlines option.

Using x-axis gridlines

X-axis gridlines are particularly helpful when working with more detailed or complicated charts. For instance, if you are viewing a column chart for the number of gifts received for each fund, slicing by color with the month the gifts were received, gridlines can help you more easily distinguish and visualize specific column groups. These vertical lines are also highly effective for charts that include a time element, providing a clear guide for sequential data points.
