Zapier is a low-code, no-code platform that allows users to create "Zaps" to connect hundreds of platforms easily. New to Zapier? Check it out here.

With our Zapier integration, you can communicate with third-party platforms to automate actions and sync data.

A Zapier account is required but can be created for free for your organization. They do have paid plans that unlock more features on their platforms.

Get Started

The current version of the Subsplash app in Zapier is private, but don't worry we would love to share it with you.

To start you will want to connect with your Client Success Manager to ensure you are on an appropriate package with access to Zapier and API usage, as that is what Zapier uses.

Once upgraded, we will share the app with you via Zapier which will add it to your account. From here you can start to configure your Zaps with Subsplash.

Authentication

Zapier makes use of the Subsplash API but in an incredibly simple way for users, to authenticate your Zapier app you will use your API client credentials and enter the following information into Zapier after you receive it from Subsplash:

This information is critical to the integration working, please make sure to copy/paste accurately in Zapier.

Name

First and last name as in your Dashboard, this will show other users in Zapier who own the connection.

App Key

The main identifier of your account can be found on the home page of your Dashboard but will also be shared with you during the setup of Zapier.

Org Key

A secondary identifier of your account that will be shared with you during setup.

Client ID

Client ID of your API client credentials that are shared securely with you during setup.

Client Secret

Client secret of your API client credentials that are shared securely with you during setup.

Triggers

Zapier operates with triggers and actions to create "Zaps", the current version of the Subsplash integration will offer triggers only so when something happens in Subsplash, you can take action in a third party. Here are the current available triggers:

New Donation

Triggers when a new donation is submitted.

New Pledge

Triggers when a new pledge to a campaign is created.

New Person

Triggers when a person is created (manually via Dashboard or naturally via app, giving, event registration, etc.)

Person Updated

Triggers when a person updates their profile.

Person Login

Triggers when a person logs into their profile.

New Media Item

Triggers when a new media item is created.

New Form Response

Triggers when a new response is submitted to a form.

Filtering

A large part of working in Zapier is filtering the data coming in to take the right action, for example, a form response would trigger with any form you have available but with a filter you can modify the action to only take place when form = Contact Card.

Examples

Some popular use cases of Zapier and Subsplash Triggers:

Receive an email for new gifts

Use the New Donation trigger with an action connected to Gmail, Outlook, etc to send an email to individuals or groups when new donations come in. You can filter by specific funds, campuses, etc, and format the email with the data from the donation like amount, donor name, memo, etc.

Create a YouTube Video when a new media item is created

Use the New Media Item trigger with an action connected to YouTube to automatically create a new video when a Media item is created or published.
